I went to see Katie's show
at Open★Source
Art. The show, entitled Heterotopias, examines issues of place and
memory. It includes not only Katie's work, but also the work of two
other young artists, Annie Creswell and Heath Schultz. I
encourage anyone who has the opportunity to go see the show.
While in Champaign-Urbana we also took a some time to check out the campus because I had not been since the ACM conference in 2001. We had dinner at The Flat Top Grill which has a very good spicy sauce for stir fry. This, of course, necessitated walking off dinner so we strolled around campus and found LED Throwies stuck to a sculptural piece on campus. After our walk I decided that I needed hot chocolate for the drive home. A quick stop at Moonstruck Chocolate Cafe yielded a fine Mexican Hot Chocolate for the road.
