My hops have popped their heads up above the ground. It will be a couple of years before we can harvest any cones.

Last month we stopped by the Some Place Like Home installation downtown. I wasn't impressed. The space was not a good match for the theme. I was also frightened by the strange obsession with the old Herb Alpert's Tijuana Brass album Whipped Cream and Other Delights.

We made an appearance at the Round the Fountain Art Fair again this year.

Constantine was kind enough to invite us all to his Memorial Day party where we learned the joys of Ladder Ball (a.k.a. Bolo Toss). There is apparently a flash version of the game. It is much better in person and with beer.

Sara and I attended Robin's high school graduation open house and had a fine dinner with Homer Hargrave, Jr., but we missed out on Vintage Indiana this year.

We were good theater patrons and endured a downpour while watching A Mid-Samara Night's Dream. The performance was organized by Project IN Motion and hosted by Dr John Christian in the valley beneath his beautiful Frank Lloyd Wright home, Samara. Unfortunately the weather was more conducive to a performance of The Tempest. The cast had fun with the conditions when they could and endured when they could not. Of particular note was Ms Laura Marie Williams who played Titania and was stuck on a platform high in a tree when the rain came. Despite getting soaked she sat up there and sang to the remaining audience members huddled under their umbrellas below. After the downpour things picked up nicely and by Act V the memory of the storm was no more yielding but a dream.

Chrissy has been staying with us off and on, but she has her own apartment now.

Recent cooking experiments have included Cinnamon Buns with the Showalters and Squid with Brad.
