The Core Rulebook is a good resource to have around. You might want to print a copy out and glance over it before your first game. We will do our best to make the transition easy for those that have never played using this system, but having your own copy of the rulebook sure is nice.

The Ultimate Powers Sourcebook is just a big book filled with various powers and their descriptions. You needn't spend too much time reading this book. If you want to leaf through and daydream about various powers, then feel free. Also your character will be asked what power they would like when they enter the Biological Enhancement Engine. This book could help give you some ideas.

The Master Table is very important. It is the one and only table that you as a player will need. It is used to determine success for essentially all actions. The GM will try to have some spares on hand, but if you have a color printer you may want to make yourself a copy.

A character sheet might also be useful. Although it is so simple that a piece of paper will likely work just as well. Your GM should have many of these on hand as well.
